The Phulkari is an embroidered shawl worn by the women of Punjab. These shawls are embroidered on coarse handwoven cotton fabric with a variety of different colors of floss silk.
The richly embroidered phulkari is an integral part of the life and tradition of the people of Punjab. The shawls are embroidered by the mother for her daughter or daughter-in-law.
